Be Where You Are

I’ve spent the last few months working on a new collection of paintings—this time watercolor florals on paper—and it’s almost time to release them into the wild!

Last year was such a whirlwind for so many of us. And for me, some of that uncertain energy has lingered into this year. With still many unanswered questions for my little family, I sometimes feel restless and uneasy. Creating these watercolor pieces helped ground me in the reality that life is good, and all will be well…no matter what comes.

This collection is all about being present. As I painted, I welcomed an attitude of exploration and discovery. Instead of sketching or planning, I just put paint to paper, embracing the imperfections and figuring things out along the way.

All the while, a simple phrase danced through my mind: Be where you are.
