Free Fourth Sunday of Advent Coloring Page

This season of Advent, I’m spending a little extra time with the second readings for each Sunday. These scripture passages are from Saint Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians, Philippians, and the Hebrews. As the calendar year comes to a close and the liturgical year begins anew, his words of encouragement, advice, and instruction seem to be just what I need to prepare my heart to be a warm place for Christ to dwell.

This coloring page features a passage from Heb 10:5-10

Brothers and sisters:
When Christ came into the world, he said:
“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but a body you prepared for me;
in holocausts and sin offerings you took no delight.
Then I said, ‘As is written of me in the scroll,
behold, I come to do your will, O God.’“

First he says, “Sacrifices and offerings,
holocausts and sin offerings,
you neither desired nor delighted in.”
These are offered according to the law.
Then he says, “
Behold, I come to do your will.”
He takes away the first to establish the second.
By this “will,”  we have been consecrated
through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Use this printable page to pray as you color. You might light an Advent candle and listen to a peaceful playlist. You might also reflect on these questions:

  1. Have I been seeking and listening for God’s will or holding tight to my own?

  2. What fears or insecurities do I have about the Lord’s plan? How can I turn those back over to Him?

  3. Think of a time when God’s providence was evident in your life. How did he surprise you? What was better than you imagined?
