Free Third Sunday of Advent Coloring Page

This season of Advent, I’m spending a little extra time with the second readings for each Sunday. These scripture passages are from Saint Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians, Philippians, and the Hebrews. As the calendar year comes to a close and the liturgical year begins anew, his words of encouragement, advice, and instruction seem to be just what I need to prepare my heart to be a warm place for Christ to dwell.

This coloring page features a passage from Phil 4:4-7.

Brothers and sisters:
Rejoice in the Lord always.
I shall say it again: rejoice!
Your kindness should be known to all.
The Lord is near.
Have no anxiety at all, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
make your requests known to God.

Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Use this printable page to pray as you color. You might light an Advent candle and listen to a peaceful playlist. You might also reflect on these questions:

  1. What can I offer to the Lord in prayer? What have I been holding back from Him?

  2. What are three things I am thankful for right now?

  3. Am I open to receiving the peace of God?
